About the Role

Innotec is a manufacturing organization committed to operational excellence and reliable product delivery. The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely and adequate supply of materials required to support production. This role manages inventory levels, analyzes demand forecasts, and coordinates closely with suppliers to prevent shortages while minimizing excess stock.

As a critical link between the production schedule and the supply chain, the Material Planner ensures materials are available when needed to maintain operational continuity. This position plays a key role in balancing supply and demand, supporting production efficiency, and driving overall supply chain performance.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze production schedules and execute Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to generate purchase orders for raw materials and components
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels using Min/Max, Safety Stock, and ABC analysis methodologies
  • Monitor and adjust inventory to improve turns and reduce excess or obsolete stock
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding forecasts, order status, and delivery requirements
  • Resolve supplier-related issues including delays, quality concerns, and quantity discrepancies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, and Purchasing to align material availability with production needs
  • Support new product launches by ensuring material readiness and supply alignment
  • Maintain and update ERP system data including lead times, lot sizes, and Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery (OTD), supplier performance, and inventory accuracy
  • Identify and mitigate potential material shortages and supply chain disruptions
  • Continuously improve planning processes and inventory controls to enhance efficiency

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in material planning, inventory control, or production scheduling in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud SCM, Plex, or Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data analysis
  • Familiarity with inventory management methodologies and production planning concepts

  • Effective problem-solving skills to address shortages and production bottlenecks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for supplier interaction and cross-functional collaboration
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

Location & Authorization

  • Onsite position based in Zeeland, MI
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
