The opportunity

Advanced Navigation is a global leader in AI robotics and autonomous navigation technologies. We are at a pivotal moment in our data evolution. As we mid-way transition our ERP, CRM, and finance ecosystems from Salesforce to Microsoft Dynamics 365, we are looking for our first dedicated Manager of Reporting & Analytics.

This is a rare "fix-and-build" opportunity. Reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with the CEO, you will have a mandate to eliminate reporting fragmentation, establish data governance, and design a modern analytics layer from the ground up. If you are eager to step into a founding role where your architectural decisions will shape company operations for years to come, this is your next challenge.

Key responsibilities

As our founding analytics leader, your focus will split between near-term governance and future-state data architecture:

  • Salesforce Audit & Rationalisation: Conduct a swift audit of our legacy Salesforce report estate, partnering diplomatically with stakeholders to retire duplicates and consolidate a clean, documented core set.
  • Governance Framework: Implement robust access controls, a transparent change-request pipeline, and a standardized KPI dictionary ensuring metrics like revenue, gross margin, and yield are computed consistently.
  • ERP Data Strategy: Co-own the analytics design for our Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation, ensuring data structures support pristine downstream reporting from day one.
  • Architecture Design: Architect our future-state data layer, connecting Dynamics 365, operational pipelines, and hardware telemetry using a modern data stack (e.g., Snowflake, dbt).
  • Executive & Board Reporting: Own the delivery of automated, low-touch executive dashboards and high-impact quarterly Board reporting packs.
  • Operational Deep Dives: Partner with Finance and Supply Chain to perform advanced data modeling around COGS decomposition, inventory analysis, and manufacturing cycles.
  • Capability Building: Promote data literacy across Advanced Navigation, transitioning teams away from custom siloed reports toward trusted, self-service dashboards.
  • Data Quality Systems: Deploy automated monitoring and exception-alerting mechanisms to catch and remediate upstream data integrity issues early.

What you bring

We are looking for a highly technical analytics professional who possesses the commercial acumen and diplomacy required to drive cultural change:

  • Proven Ownership: 5–8 years of progressive experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or analytics engineering, with a track record of running—not just contributing to—a reporting ecosystem.
  • Technical Stack Expertise: Expert-level SQL skills across major cloud warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery) and hands-on capability with dbt or equivalent data transformation tools.
  • BI Mastery: Highly proficient in data modeling within Power BI and/or Tableau, with an advantage if you are familiar with the Microsoft ecosystem (Dataverse, Azure Data Factory).
  • Salesforce Fluency: Deep, practical familiarity with the Salesforce data model, formulas, and dashboard limitations necessary to audit a heavily customized environment.
  • Physical Product Experience: A solid baseline understanding of inventory, COGS, and manufacturing cycles (highly preferred over an exclusively SaaS background).
  • Migration Experience: Prior involvement in a major systems migration or ERP implementation where you successfully guided target-state data definitions.
  • Executive Presence: Exceptional communication skills with the confidence to advise the CFO/CEO, challenge vague data requests, and translate technical insights cleanly for the Board.
  • Diplomacy & Judgment: A proven ability to navigate the internal politics of report retirement, demonstrating value to stakeholders while maintaining strict architectural boundaries.
  • Founding Mindset: Comfort operating as an autonomous, single-person function initially, backed by the strategic vision to scale a team as the business grows.

What success looks like

In your first 90 days, you will have completed the Salesforce audit, rebuilt our top 15 business-critical reports on a verified data model, and locked in the analytics requirements for the Dynamics 365 deployment. By the end of year one, you will have successfully migrated our core reporting layer to the target architecture, delivering trusted, single-source-of-truth automated reporting across Finance, Supply Chain, and the Executive team.
