Company Description

Techo-Bloc makes premium concrete pavers, retaining walls, and architectural masonry that transform outdoor spaces. We have 9 manufacturing facilities, 13+ distribution centers, and over 900 people working across more than 20 locations in Canada and the United States.

Every plant, distribution center, field salesperson, and office team depends on technology that simply works. Our IT team delivers that — and the people who lead it matter tremendously.

About the Role

You'll sit at the intersection of the IT technicians doing the work and the IT Director shaping strategy. You need to be fluent in both technical and human languages. You'll ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly, escalate the right problems, and support your team in some of the most critical work in the company.

Why You Will (Or Won't) Like Working Here

You'll love this job if:

  • You've been itching to step fully into leadership and building processes, people, and team culture
  • The idea of owning something that touches every corner of a large, growing company excites you more than it intimidates you

You won't love it if:

  • You need everything to already be figured out
  • You're at your best in a stable, fully-documented environment

We're a manufacturing company that moves fast and evolves constantly — some processes are mature, some are still being defined, and you'll shape both. If a little ambiguity feels like opportunity, you'll be right at home.

What You'll Own

Your Team

Lead a group of IT technicians across Canada and the United States. Handle hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance conversations, and tough calls. Build a team culture where people hold themselves to a high standard not because they have to, but because the bar is clear and the support is real.

Service Delivery

Own the end-to-end IT support experience — helpdesk, field support, the 6 AM call from a plant in trouble. Make sure SLAs mean something, tickets get resolved with urgency, and the people depending on technology don't feel it when something goes wrong.

Projects, Continuous Improvement & Forward Motion

Lead or support IT projects from scoping through execution — site upgrades, system rollouts, process improvements. Spot patterns in recurring problems and fix them upstream. Document what works and ensure your team isn't reinventing the wheel every six months. Actively explore how AI can make your team faster, sharper, and more impactful.

Qualifications

Who You Are

  • Lead from the front — your work ethic, follow-through, and the way you treat people set the tone
  • Equally comfortable talking shop with a technician and presenting to the IT Director
  • Bilingual — genuinely comfortable in both French and English
  • Stay calm when things break
  • Organized enough to manage multiple fires without losing track of the bigger picture
  • Care about the work, your team, and the employees across the company who depend on you

Ideal Experience

  • 8+ years in IT, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity
  • Experience in a multi-site environment, ideally manufacturing, distribution, or industrial
  • Strong command of the Microsoft stack: Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune
  • Familiarity with ERP environments; hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a meaningful advantage
  • Experience managing a helpdesk or ITSM platform — Jira, ServiceNow, Freshdesk, or similar
  • Fluency in French and English is required — headquarters is in Saint-Hubert, QC and the team spans the country
  • ITIL certification or equivalent service management training is a plus, not a prerequisite

Benefits

  • Group insurance and RRSP with employer contribution
  • 24/7 telemedicine and Employee Assistance Program
  • Training and career development opportunities
  • Performance-based bonuses
  • Employee recognition programs
  • Product discounts and workplace perks (snacks, events, free parking)
