About the Role

Reporting to the general director and working closely with the group controller, you will play a strategic role in analyzing production costs and managing the cost accounting system. Leading the plant finance team (3 people), you will ensure leadership, supervision and quality of accounting operations, while acting as a key partner to operations to support performance and decision-making.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Supervise the plant finance team
  • Manage and maintain a reliable cost accounting and standard cost system
  • Analyze actual production costs and explain variances by proposing concrete recommendations
  • Prepare and update standard costs, including annual reviews
  • Develop costs for new products in collaboration with production and sales
  • Analyze variances between budget, forecasts and actual results, and propose improvement opportunities
  • Coordinate annual physical inventories, supervise cycle counts and participate in monthly closing activities
  • Implement and monitor internal controls related to costs and inventories
  • Optimize inventory turnover and working capital management
  • Produce financial analyses for the plant and corporate office
  • Contribute to budget, forecast and annual financial planning processes
  • Participate in investment analyses (CAPEX) and profitability evaluations (ROI)
  • Collaborate with operations teams to improve key indicators (productivity, yield, losses)
  • Participate in continuous improvement of financial processes and systems
  • Ensure data integrity in the ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics NAV)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • Professional CPA designation
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in personnel management and strong leadership skills
  • Excellent command of French and English, spoken and written
  • Very good Excel skills
  • Experience with an ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics NAV, an asset)
  • Developed analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills
  • Rigor, autonomy and sense of responsibility
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to work as a team
  • Excellent communication and synthesis skills
  • Results-oriented approach and commitment to continuous improvement
