About the Role
At Formations Inc., we help bring creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation to life across Canada's design and millwork industry. We're looking for a driven, customer-focused Territory Sales Manager to join our Langley, BC team and take ownership of a growing territory.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, uncovering new opportunities, and delivering results. You'll be responsible for growing our market presence by developing new business while strengthening relationships with existing customers. Representing Formations' portfolio of distribution and manufactured products, you'll provide tailored solutions, earn customer trust, and drive long-term growth throughout your territory.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own and grow an assigned territory by driving profitable sales growth and expanding market share
- Develop and execute a territory business plan, including prospecting strategies, account priorities, sales targets, and activity plans
- Spend approximately 70% of your time in the field meeting with existing customers and identifying new business opportunities
- Prospect and convert new customers through cold calls, referrals, networking, job site visits, and industry events
- Build trusted relationships with millworkers, cabinet manufacturers, designers, fabricators, and other key industry partners
- Identify customer needs and recommend Formations' distribution and manufactured product solutions
- Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing within company guidelines, and close profitable sales opportunities
- Grow existing accounts by identifying cross-selling and upselling opportunities while delivering exceptional customer service
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales activities, opportunities, forecasts, and customer interactions
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities and inform sales strategies
- Collaborate with internal teams including Branch Operations, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to ensure an outstanding customer experience
What You Bring
- 5+ years of successful outside sales or territory management experience, preferably within building materials, wood products, manufacturing, or distribution
- Proven ability to develop new business while growing and retaining existing customer relationships
- A hunter mentality with strong prospecting, networking, and closing skills
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong business acumen with the ability to identify customer needs and recommend value-added solutions
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and comfortable working independently in a field-based role
- Experience using CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar) and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory
- Experience working with cabinet makers, millworkers, fabricators, or the architectural and design community
Bonus Points
- Knowledge of decorative surfaces, laminates, hardware, panel products, or related building materials
- Experience delivering CEU presentations or supporting architects and designers
- Existing relationships within the Vancouver area in building products or millwork industry
