Senior Solutions Architect

About the Role

The Senior Solutions Architect is the technical authority for manufacturing planning and supply chain solutions within the Crafting & Supply domain. The role focuses on designing and delivering end-to-end planning, order scheduling and supply chain capabilities, including Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS), logistics, and warehouse management, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business transformation objectives.

The role bridges business requirements and technology implementation by translating planning and supply chain strategies into scalable and implementable solution designs across planning platforms, ERP, MES and related manufacturing platforms.

The role works closely with Enterprise Architecture and cross-functional stakeholders to drive solution delivery from design through hypercare, ensuring standardized, scalable, and business-aligned solutions across multiple manufacturing sites.

Solution Architecture & Design

  • Define and produce detailed solution architecture artefacts (e.g., HLD, LLD, integration specifications) for manufacturing technology implementations, including ERP, MES, and APS, aligned with business transformation roadmaps and enterprise architecture blueprints
  • Ensure solution designs are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with long-term digital manufacturing strategy

Architecture Governance & Clean Core

  • Act as a guardian of clean core principles, ensuring all solutions minimize custom development, protect standard ERP, MES, and APS processes, and maintain system upgrade integrity
  • Participate in architecture review boards, design authority forum and cross-solution architect forums to ensure alignment of design decisions across the program landscape
  • Ensure all solution decisions are traceable to enterprise architecture principles and documented business requirements
  • Maintain and govern an architectural decision log capturing key design choices, rationale, constraints, and approved deviations

Business & Stakeholder Alignment

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, business stakeholders and process owners to translate business needs into effective solution designs
  • Support the development of business cases for new IT and digital investments by providing architectural guidance and feasibility assessments
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment on requirements, solution impact, and delivery expectations

Manufacturing Solution & Platform Enablement

  • Support the effective adoption and optimization of the manufacturing solution landscape, including ERP (Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, S/4HANA), APS (Delmia Quintiq), Long term planning (O9) and MES (SAP Digital Manufacturing)
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of core manufacturing technology capabilities and solution architecture practices

IT/OT Integration & Industrial Data Architecture

  • Design scalable and secure industrial data pipelines from shopfloor systems to enterprise platforms
  • Design real-time and event-driven data architectures supporting shopfloor visibility, monitoring, and analytics (e.g., streaming pipelines, event hubs, Kafka)

Standardization & Multi-Site Scalability

  • Define reusable architecture patterns, templates, and data models to enable scalable rollouts across multiple factories
  • Ensure consistency in integration approaches, connectivity frameworks, and data standards across locations
