Technical Delivery & Governance Manager
ClúidTechnical Delivery & Governance Manager
Position: Technical Delivery & Governance Manager Reporting to: Head of IT Operations Location: Dublin 1 (Hybrid) Contract type: 12 month Fixed Term Contract Salary: €80,000–€85,837
Role Overview
The Technical Delivery & Governance Manager is responsible for driving the successful execution of technology projects and ensuring robust operational governance across our infrastructure ecosystem. A critical component of this role is the strategic management, compliance monitoring, and performance oversight of our Managed Service Provider (MSP).
This role operates at an oversight and coordination level — bridging the gap between strategic business requirements, technical implementation, and external technical partners.
Key Responsibilities
Managed Service Provider (MSP) Administration & Governance
- Act as the primary operational contact and escalation point for the Managed Service Provider (MSP)
- Monitor and govern MSP performance against SLAs and KPIs, driving service quality and accountability
- Lead regular service reviews and oversee adherence to ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management)
- Ensure effective onboarding and lifecycle management of services delivered by the MSP
- Maintain and enforce standards across architecture, documentation, and operational procedures
- Oversee audit readiness, ensuring compliance with IT policies, GDPR, and governance requirements
- Act as key liaison for internal and external IT audits, managing evidence and control assurance
- Own and govern Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning, including testing and MSP readiness
- Drive organisational standards for data classification, environment management, and operational consistency
Cloud Infrastructure Governance & Architecture Oversight
- Define, implement, and maintain governance frameworks within Microsoft Azure (including Azure Policy, Cost Management, and Resource Tagging strategies)
- Review and validate architectural designs and infrastructure changes proposed by external vendors to ensure alignment with organisational security and compliance standards
- Lead cloud optimisation initiatives, tracking consumption metrics and driving cost-efficiencies across Azure tenants
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure external partners maintain the integrity of tenant security boundaries and conditional access policies
Technical Project Management & Delivery
- Act as the technical project manager for infrastructure migrations, cloud transformations, and application ecosystem modernisations
- Define project scopes, manage timelines, map resource allocations, and mitigate technical risks in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external delivery teams
- Coordinate technical discovery sessions, technical control readiness assessments, and system integration designs
- Manage the decommissioning process of legacy environments alongside the onboarding of modern enterprise platforms
- While this is primarily a governance, delivery, and architectural role, the successful candidate must possess a 'hands-on' pragmatic capability. They must be comfortable navigating Azure tenants, SaaS portals, and advanced configurations directly to validate vendor delivery, audit compliance, or lead high-level technical discovery
Service Delivery & Stakeholder Engagement
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy to deliver outcomes, resolve complex issues, and maintain stable environments
- Manage and prioritise multiple high-impact tasks in a fast-paced environment, aligning work to business risk and urgency
- Deliver a professional, customer-focused IT service, communicating complex technical concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders
- Build strong relationships with end-users and leadership, ensuring a collaborative and solutions-oriented approach
Corporate Responsibilities
- Ensure all activity is aligned to Clúid's values and contributes to the mission of supporting the development of thriving communities
- Adhere to all Clúid policies and procedures at all times
- Exercise discretion at all times
- Demonstrate high standards regarding both Clúid's and your own wellbeing, health and safety requirements
Person Specification
- Strategic and governance-focused, with the ability to operate across complex, multi-vendor environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, translating technical concepts into clear business outcomes
- Proven ability to lead and structure technical delivery aligned to organisational objectives
- Analytical, organised, and commercially aware, with a focus on governance, compliance, and value
- Broad understanding of enterprise architecture, including cloud, SaaS ecosystems, integration, and data governance
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Significant experience in IT operations within complex, multi-vendor environments, including managing Managed Service Providers (MSPs)
- Demonstrated capability in leading large-scale technical implementations or cloud migrations from design through to operational readiness
- Strong working knowledge of ITIL and service governance frameworks, including Change Management, SLA/KPI oversight, and service review processes
- Robust understanding of Microsoft Azure (including Entra ID/Azure AD, security, and cost optimisation), with a focus on governance and best practice
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and testing Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BCP) frameworks in cloud or hybrid environments
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver technical initiatives in a structured and outcome-focused manner
Desirable
- Microsoft Azure certification(s)
- Project Management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP)
- ITIL accreditation
- Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and middleware platforms
- Experience working with and governing the Microsoft SaaS ecosystem (including Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and M365) and its integration with Azure cloud infrastructure
