About the Role

AECOM is actively seeking Developers to work on a broad range of projects. This position supports clients by transforming data and automating processes, mostly relating to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements. This is a client-facing position where effective communication is as important as technical skill. You will work with multiple clients at once, and though this is a full-time salaried position, will be required to accurately allocate your daily time worked to the appropriate projects.

The position requires work in both self-directed and team-based collaboration scenarios where critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential. You will have responsibility for the success of small projects focused on solution development or development tasks within larger projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design, create, and maintain business automation and intelligence tools and the data structures which supply them
  • Understand what clients need to do with data and work with experts and coworkers to accomplish it
  • Plan the steps required to accomplish a client's requirements and estimate the effort and schedule needed to complete them
  • Articulate technical challenges and proposed solutions to non-technical decision makers
  • Query databases and use APIs to obtain data
  • Suggest innovative solutions for client requirements
  • Initiate contact with mentors and coworkers to work through problems and questions
  • Proactively engage with coworkers and clients throughout the world

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Information Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related degree plus 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience designing and building tools for process automation solutions, including PowerApps or competitive platforms
  • Experience designing and building dashboards
  • Working understanding of relational databases
  • US Citizenship is required due to the nature of work

Preferred Qualifications

  • SharePoint Development
  • Web Development
  • JavaScript knowledge
  • SQL Database
  • Exposure to Azure services
  • Experience with basic coding languages including Python, C#, HTML5, and JavaScript, Node.JS, REACT
  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS solutions (ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise), including working with spatial data and integrating GIS data with enterprise systems

Technical Skills

To ensure success in this role, you should have a strong working knowledge of:

  • Power Platform, including Canvas Power Apps, Model-Driven Power Apps, Dataverse, Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Portals
  • Microsoft 365 services
  • Fundamentals of ETL processes, database design, and object-oriented programming

Work Arrangement

  • Work location model: Hybrid home/office
  • Preferred regions: Candidates in the Houston, Philadelphia, or New York regions are preferred, to facilitate engagement with existing centers of excellence
  • First day: In-office, without exception, for security purposes
  • Travel: Occasional travel to client meetings is required
  • Relocation: Not available for this position

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: USD $100,000 - USD $135,000 yearly
