About the Role
Inpria is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Production & Inventory Planner that serves as the organization's lead planning professional, responsible for establishing production planning strategies that ensure reliable customer delivery, optimized inventory, and efficient manufacturing operations. This position provides leadership to the planning and customer service functions while driving continuous improvement in planning processes, inventory management, and business systems across the organization.
Acting as a key liaison between production, engineering, procurement, logistics, sales, customer service, and finance, the Senior Production & Inventory Planner ensures materials, resources, and information are aligned to support business objectives. Working within an environment that utilizes Microsoft 365 applications, Slack, Asana, and other business systems, this position is expected to drive planning excellence, inventory visibility, process discipline, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Own the production planning and inventory management process by developing integrated production schedules, material plans, and inventory strategies that balance customer demand, manufacturing capacity, inventory targets, and material availability
- Manage inventory transfers from external warehouse locations to ensure material availability, support production schedules, and minimize disruptions to manufacturing operations
- Support supplier forecasts and inventory strategies to meet short-, medium-, and long-term business objectives
- Identify supply chain risks, material shortages, and capacity constraints, and lead cross-functional resolution efforts to minimize operational and customer impacts
- Provide day-to-day leadership for the Customer Service Representative and Planning Specialist, including workload prioritization, coaching, performance management, and development of standardized planning processes
- Serve as the primary planning liaison between Production, Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, Sales, Customer Service, and Finance by communicating production priorities, inventory constraints, and schedule changes to support business objectives
- Lead the monthly physical inventory process to ensure inventory accuracy and support timely and accurate month-end financial close activities
- Develop, monitor, and report planning performance metrics, including inventory turns, production attainment, planning accuracy, lead times, customer service levels, and on-time delivery, using data to drive continuous improvement
- Leverage Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, Slack, Asana, and other business tools to improve planning visibility, reporting, collaboration, and decision-making
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of ERP, LIMS, and MES capabilities through process standardization, data governance, and planning system optimization
- Other duties as assigned
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field with 4–5 years of progressively responsible experience in production planning, supply chain planning, inventory management, or manufacturing operations
- Demonstrated expertise in production planning, demand planning, inventory optimization, MRP principles, capacity planning, and supply chain management within a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience leading, mentoring, or supervising employees
- Demonstrated ability to build processes and create structure in a rapidly growing or evolving environment
- Experience managing customer priorities while balancing operational and inventory constraints
- Proven ability to analyze data from multiple sources and translate findings into actionable production and inventory plans
- Experience utilizing ERP or MRP systems (e.g., Business Central, SAP, etc.) for production planning and inventory management is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience designing and improving business processes that enhance planning accuracy, inventory control, and operational efficiency
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is preferred but not required
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without the need for employer sponsorship
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 10 pounds from floor to table height
- Ability to sit and/or stand in one place for extended periods
- Perform fine motor skills for keyboarding and mouse use
- Be able to stand and walk short distances throughout the day
