About us
At the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), we are dedicated to carrying out meaningful work that drives improvements and elevates student achievement across NSW, now and into the future.
We accomplish this by supporting all school sectors with high-quality syllabuses, assessment (including managing the HSC and NAPLAN), teaching standards (e.g., accrediting teachers) and school environments (including setting and monitoring school standards).
NESA is a unique organisation in NSW (of around 740FTE staff) with significant state-wide impact.
About the role
We are seeking a solutions-focused Principal Analyst to lead the design, development and enhancement of enterprise CRM, automation and business intelligence solutions across the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
This role plays a critical part in delivering NESA's School and Teaching Standards Data Strategy and Technology Reform programs through hands-on development across Dynamics 365, Power Platform and Microsoft Fabric/Power BI — building and maintaining the solutions that support regulatory operations, accreditation functions and enterprise decision-making.
Working at the intersection of business and technology, you will partner closely with stakeholders across the organisation to translate complex operational needs into scalable, user-centred solutions that improve data quality, streamline processes and deliver measurable business outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a major enterprise CRM migration program while helping shape modern, sustainable platform capability across NESA.

- Collaborating with vendors, ICT teams and operational stakeholders
- Providing technical leadership across projects and platforms
- Driving improvements to data quality and user experience
- Supporting solution architecture, integrations and platform governance
What we're looking for
To be successful in this role, you will bring experience delivering enterprise CRM and analytics solutions within complex environments and be confident engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive collaboration, innovation and successful project outcomes.
Our ideal candidate will bring:
- Strong experience with Dynamics 365, Power Platform and Microsoft Fabric/Power BI
- Experience delivering large-scale CRM migration or transformation projects
- Strong solution design, automation and systems integration capability
- The ability to translate business needs into practical technical solutions
- Experience working across business, ICT and vendor stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and project delivery skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capability
- A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement
- An understanding of data governance and enterprise data quality principles
Essential requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in information technology, computer science, data engineering or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
Note: A current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance for paid employment is required before commencing in this role. It is not required at the application stage. The cost of the WWCC clearance is the responsibility of the successful applicant.

- An organisation where your contribution has a big impact.
- An enviable CBD location (all modes of transport nearby, and excellent coffee and eateries) with refurbished offices.
- Flexible working arrangements and generous leave entitlements.
- Access to discounted health and fitness memberships via Fitness Passport, an employee assistance program and annual flu vaccinations.
