Position Overview

The FP&A Analyst delivers strategic financial insights, driving business performance, and supporting key decision-making processes. This role also supports month-end closings, financial reporting and audit preparation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within the accounting and finance team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning for the residential construction businesses.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, project management, and sales, to gather relevant data and insights.
  • Participate in strategic planning initiatives, including new project evaluations, investment appraisals, and profitability analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the FP&A function.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to business leaders, helping them understand financial impacts to make informed decisions.
  • Assist with preparation of the monthly operating report ("MOR") and review with division accounting and finance leadership.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Experience with D365, OneStream, Power BI and AI tools such as Claude a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team and matrix environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings such as background and motor vehicle record checks.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting; MBA, CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably within the construction or real estate industry.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Ability to effectively multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing schedules and operational demands.
  • Ability to work modified schedules, or occasional weekends as business needs require.
  • Ability to work effectively in a typical office environment, including exposure to open office and cubicle settings, ambient noise, telephones, computer equipment, overhead lighting, frequent interruptions, multiple conversations, and other normal workplace distractions.
  • Sit at a desk and perform prolonged computer work, including viewing monitors, entering data, and using office equipment, with occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the workday.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions within established company policies and procedures.
  • Travel as required to support project and operational needs.
  • Dependable transportation and commitment to punctual, reliable on-site attendance.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 15 pounds.
