About the role

Reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis at SOVRA, the Financial Analyst contributes to the preparation of monthly reporting for the executive team and board of directors, as well as forecasts and budgets. The Analyst prepares a range of analyses for recurring and ad-hoc reporting (budget variances, project monitoring, performance and profitability analysis, etc.) and ensures the integrity of all deliverables within established deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the preparation, analysis and follow-up of monthly financial reporting, the annual budget, and forecasts (P&L and cash flow)
  • Analyze budget and forecast variances
  • Prepare reports and dashboard including several SaaS KPI required for the month-end process
  • Prepare the analyses required for external or internal audit files
  • Prepare various analytical and management reports (sales report, customer revenue reports, etc.)
  • Ensure the follow-up of dashboards and performance indicators at the operations level
  • Participate in the optimization of processes related to the various financial systems
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from managers

Desired profile

  • Analytical skills: Excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate findings clearly
  • Technical proficiency: Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas) and strong financial modeling ability
  • Software: Proficiency with the broader Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Work style: Autonomy and rigour
  • Interpersonal: Team spirit and collaboration
  • Languages: Good command of English (reading and writing) and French (an asset)
  • Systems: Knowledge of Business Central and/or Workday Adaptive, an asset
  • Tools: Familiarity with AI tools to support financial analysis and reporting, an asset

Qualifications

  • University degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum five years of experience in a similar role
  • Recognized professional designation: CPA or equivalent, an asset
  • Work authorization: Authorized to work in Canada—unfortunately we are not able to sponsor work visas or transfers at this time
