The Business Systems Specialist is primarily responsible for leading the data strategy to include the development of a relational, automated database in support of internal manufacturing operations and Quality. Additionally, this role bridges the gap between technical infrastructure and business efficiency by architecting robust database integrations, helping support the integration of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and managing legacy and new developments in our Atlassian environment. The ideal candidate is a "technical polymath" who can move seamlessly from SQL query optimization to ERP process mapping and Jira workflow configuration. What you'll do... Database Integration & Building Architecture & Design: Design, build, and maintain relational databases to support business applications and reporting requirements. Data Integration: Develop and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and API-led integrations to ensure seamless data flow between storage locations, the ERP system and Atlassian tools, including third-party applications. Optimization: Monitor database performance, perform regular tuning, and ensure data integrity and security across all environments. Front-End Engineering: Capture and integrate business needs into user-interface applications. Reporting Support: Create complex analysis queries and views to provide clean data sets for Business Intelligence (BI) tools and executive dashboards. ERP Implementation & Maintenance Vendor Liaison: Manage relationships with ERP vendors and consultants to resolve high-level technical bugs and influence product roadmaps. Implementation Lifecycle: Support the end-to-end implementation of ERP modules, including requirement gathering, configuration, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and go-live support. Process Mapping: Work with stakeholders to translate business requirements into ERP functional specifications. System Maintenance: Perform regular system updates, patch management, and troubleshooting of ERP-related issues (e.g., finance, supply chain, or manufacturing modules). Atlassian Tool Support & Administration Ecosystem Management: Act as the primary administrator for Jira (Software/Service Management) and Confluence. Workflow Optimization: Design and implement custom workflows, permission schemes, notification schemes, and screen schemes tailored to departmental needs. User Training: Provide technical support to end-users and develop documentation/best practices to increase adoption and tool efficiency You'll have... Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. 5-10 years of experience in systems integration or business applications management, preferably in a manufacturing or process related environment Data Retention and Systems Migration: Expert-level SQL (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL). Experience with data warehousing and API integration (REST/SOAP) Cloud: Procurement, Provision and Management using technical governance of CI/CD Pipelines (experience with GCP preferable) ERP Sytems: Previous experience with major ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or specialized manufacturing ERPs). Scripting: Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or Groovy (for Jira scripts/database automation) is a significant plus. Atlassian: Experience in Jira/Confluence administration (Cloud or Data Center). Familiarity with JQL (Jira Query Language) and Automation for Jira. Analytical Thinking: Ability to troubleshoot complex integration failures and identify root causes. Communication: Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders across various departments. Project Management: Strong organizational skills to balance maintenance tasks with long-term implementation projects. Even better, you may have... This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900. This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
