Role Description

Identify opportunities to deliver tangible business value by assessing the current state, capturing high-level requirements, and defining business solutions. Translate business needs into technology-enabled solutions and operating models. Support transformation by developing business cases and guiding implementation of key initiatives.

About the Role

As a Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP Technical Architect, you will be responsible for designing and developing technical components for Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. You will configure, develop, and automate processes using X++, Power Platform, and AI-driven capabilities such as Copilot and AI Builder. This position goes beyond traditional development, and you will use GenAI, automation, and low-code/no-code tools to modernize ERP processes and build intelligent business solutions.

The role is part of an elite pool and active contribution to innovation and accelerators is expected. You will seek to design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade solutions using Generative and Agentic AI frameworks that drive innovation, efficiency, and business transformation.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and customize D365 F&O using X++, Extensions, Data Entities, and Integrations
• Act as an individual contributor in hands-on technical development, building complex solutions in Dynamics 365 F&O
• Build AI-enabled automations using Copilot Studio, Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, AI Builder)
• Create custom Copilot flows and integrate prompts with D365 actions (task automation, summarization, data extraction)
• Work with Azure services (Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus) for integration
• Participate in technical design, code reviews, SIT/UAT support, and production deployment
• Ensure code quality, performance optimization, and adherence to extension-first principles
• Create reusable technical assets and contribute to accelerators
• Engage directly with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements, showcase solutions, and resolve technical challenges
• Quickly learn and apply cutting-edge AI technologies to drive innovation and enhance delivery effectiveness
• Lead AI-driven solution design and delivery by applying GenAI and Agentic AI to address complex business challenges, automate processes, and integrate intelligent insights into enterprise workflows for measurable impact

Professional & Technical Skills

Core Technical (D365 F&O / X++ / Extensions)

• Strong hands-on development experience in:
• X++ development & extensions (extension-first architecture)
• Data management framework (DMF), data entities, batch jobs
• Custom APIs / OData integrations
• Role-based security, workflows, and automation

AI + Copilot + Power Platform (Must Have to Qualify)

• Ability to build AI-enabled automations for:
• D365 Copilot plug-ins
• AI Builder custom model creation
• Intelligent workflows using Power Automate (desktop + cloud flows)
• Power Apps (Canvas + Model driven)
• Leverage MCP to create and extend agents for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations apps
• Experience using the following AI accelerators:
• Prompt engineering and prompt chaining
• Using Azure OpenAI via Power Automate connectors
• Creating AI flows that extract unstructured data (OCR, Doc processing, Email ERP automation)

Data & Analytics Enablers (Good to Have)

• Power BI data modeling & extracted insights into D365 forms
• Azure Data Lake, Synapse views for F&O data

DevOps Engineering

• Azure DevOps build & release pipelines
• Understanding of branch/merge strategies
• Automated deployment of packages

Leadership & Behavioral Skills

• Collaborate effectively with functional teams and architects
• Shows willingness to learn and drive innovation

Required Experience

• 10–12+ years of experience as a Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP Technical Architect
• Minimum 7.5 years of relevant experience
• Strong grasp of Generative and Agentic AI, prompt engineering, and AI evaluation frameworks
• Ability to align AI capabilities with business objectives while ensuring scalability, responsible use, and tangible value realization
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Technical Architecture

Educational Qualification

15 years full time education

Expected Outcome

Can independently build an AI-enabled automation for a D365 process.
