Accounts Receivable Clerk
Unleashed BrandsAccounts Receivable Clerk
Role Summary
We are seeking a results-driven, highly accountable Accounts Receivable Clerk to support the billings and collections function for our multi-location, multi-entity franchised business. As a private equity-backed platform doubling in size annually, the "Office of the CFO" requires a professional who possesses uncompromising integrity, professional maturity, and a high degree of candor.
The successful candidate will take a hands-on approach to researching, building, and executing accurate and timely customer billings while actively managing collections to ensure payment deadlines are met. Beyond day-to-day clerical task execution, we seek a "culture carrier"—someone who stays mentally present in every interaction, communicates with absolute transparency, and proactively protects the positive energy and operational integrity of our accounting team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Billing Accuracy & Integrity: Generates manual and complex invoices for franchisees; maintains the ability to support all charges based on operational facts and an intimate knowledge of our business layout.
- Proactive Collections Management: Reconciles accounts receivable ledgers to ensure the accurate and timely receipt of payments, minimizing aging balances through consistent, professional outreach.
- Radical Transparency & Communication: Maintains an open standard of communication with leadership. Provides proactive, honest updates on aging accounts, system issues, or task status, ensuring potential bottlenecks are exposed early rather than reactively hidden.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partners directly with franchisees, team members, and various corporate functions to rapidly resolve billing inconsistencies, handle inquiries, and ensure all revenue items are properly presented.
- Team Presence & Energy: Actively engages in team stand-ups and collaborative sessions. Contributes to a high-performance floor culture by remaining solution-oriented, collaborative, and professional, even during stressful or high-volume windows.
- Operational Agility: Operates as a self-starter who uses experience to take initiative, manage heavy Excel reporting, and meet multiple deadlines. Easily adapts to shifting priorities and makes time for unplanned assignments inherent in a fast-growing, PE-backed platform.
- Policy & Confidentiality Compliance: Strictly adheres to all company policies, procedures, and internal controls. Protects the organization by maintaining absolute confidentiality regarding franchise financial data and internal operations.
Basic Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Direct Experience: 2–3 years of dedicated Accounts Receivable experience in increasingly complex billing and collections roles.
- Microsoft Excel Skills: Intermediate or Advanced proficiency.
- Integrity & Reliability: A proven track record of professional candor and reliability. Understands that in our accounting environment, integrity is binary; possesses the maturity to take responsibility for tasks and provide completely honest status updates to leadership at all times.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically with heavy data management in Excel and professional communication in Outlook.
- Communication & Professionalism: Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills; ability to interact confidently and professionally with external franchisees while maintaining emotional regulation and composure under pressure.
- Presence & Commitment: Ability to maintain a consistent hybrid in-office presence (4 days/week) and dedicate a full-time, 40-hour workweek to supporting team operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates Degree
- Direct experience handling franchise royalty invoicing and franchise accounts receivable processes.
- Hands-on experience navigating large ERP environments, specifically Microsoft Dynamics GP or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Background in utilizing collection management best practices to reduce Day Sales Outstanding (DSO).
Physical Demands & Other Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 10–15 pounds at times.
- Availability: Ability to work overtime or adjusted hours as necessary to support business-critical tasks, platform expansions, or critical close cycles.
- Cultural Alignment: A strict commitment to the mission-focused approach of Unleashed Brands, defaulting to trust through transparent communication, accepting constructive feedback, and pulling together as a championship team.
