As our new Account Manager, Merchants QLD, you will be the front-line representative to our merchant and trade customer base, with responsibility for maintaining, growing and promoting our product ranges. You will manage a defined customer portfolio, driving sales performance, strengthening relationships and identifying opportunities to expand our footprint within the market.
You will be responsible for delivering strong sales performance across your territory, achieving agreed sales and margin targets while ensuring pricing frameworks are adhered to and expenses are effectively managed.
Central to the role is building and maintaining trusted relationships with key merchant and trade customers, supported by regular face-to-face engagement, product training and the ability to clearly communicate technical information and product benefits.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse sales data to identify trends and growth opportunities, developing and executing targeted sales plans to drive volume and margin growth
- Contribute valuable market intelligence and identify customer-specific opportunities
- Ensure operational excellence through well-presented in-store displays, accurate reporting and active participation in team reviews and industry events
- Work collaboratively across Marketing, Supply, Operations and Sales, sharing customer insights to help shape broader business strategy and support continued commercial success
About you
We are looking for an individual who combines strong commercial acumen with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
Essential experience and skills:
- Proven experience in a sales or account management role, ideally within the trade or merchant channel
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to analyse data and translate insights into practical actions that drive performance
- Solid product awareness and industry knowledge
- High level of organisation and attention to detail
- Capability to manage competing priorities effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Highly regarded:
- Experience with ERP systems or Microsoft Dynamics 365
