The Role
We are looking for a Procurement Team Leader to join the Operations Team in Porto.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the full Procurement process, ensuring competitive costs, reliable deliveries and strong Vendor performance aligned with Organizational objectives
- Negotiate, manage and ensure compliance with Vendor contracts, including pricing agreements, service levels, confidentiality clauses, Organizational and regulatory requirements, in coordination with Legal and internal stakeholders
- Monitor performance indicators (KPIs) related to Procurement activities, identifying opportunities for improvement and taking corrective actions when necessary
- Ensure effective cross-functional alignment with Planning and Warehouse & Logistics Teams to guarantee material availability, minimizing shortages and excess inventory
- Collaborate closely with Engineering Team on technical sourcing, specifications and supplier selection
- Collaborate closely with PLM Team on change management processes (ECR/ECN)
- Work with the Quality Team to manage Vendor-related non-conformities, claims, PPAP requirements, audits and other Vendor development initiatives
- Support inventory optimization by supervising MOQs, Lead Times, and safety stock parameters
- Supervise accurate and updated data in the ERP (pricing, lead times, Vendor information, purchasing terms)
- Provide strategic feedback and reporting to the Management Team
- Train, coach, and develop Team Members to improve skills and performance
- Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to Team Members
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in Procurement, Supply Chain or related operations (minimum 3–5 years preferred)
- Proficiency with ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, SAP, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and their impact on purchasing decisions
- Strong understanding of Procurement best practices, including Vendor selection, negotiation, contract management, and cost optimization
- Experience managing Vendor relationships, including performance monitoring, issue resolution, and service-level improvement
- Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration with several Teams, ensuring material availability and cost efficiency
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent English (spoken and written) is mandatory; additional languages are an advantage
