The Role

To support our continued growth, we are looking for a Credit Controller to strengthen our finance team. The role is group-wide; you work for the entire EnergyKing group from our headquarters in Herent.

Your mission: You contribute to the healthy cash flow of EnergyKing by correctly and promptly following up on outstanding customer receivables. At the same time, you ensure smooth and error-free invoicing. You combine accuracy with assertiveness and work closely with sales, operations and customer success.

Your Focus

Outstanding receivables (credit control)

• You actively follow up on outstanding invoices via reminders, phone and email and record each contact correctly.
• You make clear payment agreements with customers and monitor their compliance.
• You prioritize files based on risk level and escalate promptly in case of repeated non-payment or high amounts.
• You monitor the customer relationship: even when in arrears, communication remains professional and solution-focused.

Invoicing & administrative processing

• You send and check invoices and credit notes in consultation with accounting.
• You monitor the correctness and timeliness of invoice documents as a basis for smooth collection.
• You reduce invoicing errors that lead to payment delays or disputes.
• You support basic administration and keep files and the digital archive up-to-date.

Resolving disputes and blockages

• You identify invoice queries and complaints and pass them on to the appropriate internal teams.
• You coordinate the resolution of disputes with sales, operations and customer success.
• You monitor the processing time of open disputes so that payments can flow smoothly again.

Reporting & cash flow monitoring

• You report on aging, top amounts, risks and actions to the accounting manager or CFO.
• You provide input for monthly and quarterly reporting.

Requirements

• Experience in credit control, invoicing or an equivalent finance/administrative role
• Assertive and professional communication: you conduct conversations with customers without damaging the relationship
• Careful, structured and punctual: you maintain lists and files flawlessly
• Comfortable with MS Office (Excel) and willing to quickly pick up ERP systems (Business Central) and CRM (Teamleader)
• Team player who can also work independently and takes ownership of his/her portfolio
• Fluent Dutch (written and spoken); French is a plus
