
AI Governance Manager

Zions Bancorporation's Enterprise Technology and Operations (ETO) team is seeking an AI Governance Manager to develop, implement, and enforce policies and frameworks to ensure the responsible, ethical, and compliant use of Artificial Intelligence across the organization. This individual will work closely with data science, architecture, engineering, legal, and business teams to embed governance principles into the entire AI lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the company's AI governance program, including standards and best practices for the safe use of AI, leveraging industry standards such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Manage the AI Use Case intake process, including the completion of risk assessments, identifying risk mitigation requirements, inventory management, and routing for approval
- Identify and maintain AI-related risk statements and correspondent controls to help govern AI use at an enterprise level
- Stay current with emerging AI regulations and ensure the company's adherence to compliance requirements
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate review, oversight, and enforcement of expectations for AI solutions
- Monitor and audit AI systems for performance, bias, and compliance with internal policies
- Develop and deliver training and educational materials to promote awareness of AI governance best practices across the company
- Serve as a subject matter expert on AI governance for internal stakeholders
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree required; a combination of education and experience may meet requirements
- Experience: 8+ years in a governance, risk, or compliance role, with a strong preference for experience in AI or technology policy
- Technical Skills: Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI) is preferred; familiarity with GRC tooling, AI model inventory platforms, or automated risk assessment workflows; familiarity with data science and machine learning concepts
- Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate risks; excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical and policy concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences; experience with project management and working with cross-functional teams

Office Location: Fully in office (5 days a week) at the Zions Technology Center - 7860 South Bingham Junction Blvd, Midvale, UT 84047
About the Campus: The Zions Technology Center is a 400,000-square-foot technology campus in Midvale, Utah, located on the former Sharon Steel Mill superfund site. This sustainably built campus is the company's primary technology and operations center.
