South Metro Fire Rescue (SMFR) is a fire protection district in the south Denver metropolitan area of Colorado that provides fire protection and emergency response services across roughly 300 square miles in Arapahoe, Douglas, and Jefferson counties. The district operates 30 fire stations and is an internationally accredited agency (Commission on Fire Accreditation International) holding an ISO Public Protection Classification Class 1 rating. Beyond emergency response, SMFR provides emergency medical services, community risk reduction and fire prevention education, and development and construction plan review and permitting.
