Leatherman Tool Group, Inc. is an American manufacturer of pliers-based multi-tools, knives, pocket tools, and accessories, which it designs and produces at its factory in Portland, Oregon. The company was founded to market founder Tim Leatherman's idea for a portable, pliers-based multipurpose hand tool, and sold its first Multi-Tool (the PST, Pocket Survival Tool) in 1983. It has also expanded into a branded apparel collection.
