About Alberta Petroleum Marketing Commission
The Alberta Petroleum Marketing Commission (APMC) is a provincial Crown corporation and agent of the Government of Alberta that markets the Crown's royalty share of crude oil, natural gas, and bitumen production and develops the prices used in royalty calculations. Since its mandate was expanded in 2012–2013, it also supports the development of value-added activity in Alberta's petroleum sector, including the Sturgeon Refinery, new energy markets, and transportation infrastructure. It operates at arm's length and reports to the Alberta Legislature through the Minister of Energy.
